Halloween

Maci giggled through most of the trick-or-treating and Ellis proudly yelled 'trick-or-treat' at every door without prompting. Both of those things were not similar to trick-or-treating last year, so that's a win!

We lost Ellis' original pirate hat at the Boo at the Zoo. Boo. But we added a pirate pony tail, a gold hoop "earring" and blacked out her tooth to make up for it.

I think I told her to be scary?

Four hours. That's how long we were there! The girls did a great job. And somehow the only photos I got of Janae, who was also with us, were from behind. Despite that fact, we were so happy to have her there, too.

Bonfire

Ellis drew this for Grandma Shelly and insisted I take a picture for her to see it.

Maci has claimed ownership of the word 'no' lately. Sometimes it's really cute and sort of funny, like this picture:

Yesterday evening the girls were "roasting marshmallows" so we decided to have an actual fire since it was Gabe's birthday and all.

See how heavy this log must be? She was pretending not to notice me photographing her but once I started her face became very strained :)

This looks like a blink from the flash, but actually this is the actual face she gave me as she walked away for quite a few seconds. For the record I asked her to smile. And for the record she's done this many times before and has more than once run into objects or walls as a result of walking forward while looking backwards.
